Investigators, IRB members, and staff involved in human subject research at Marshfield Clinic Health System are required to complete training on human subjsects protection per the institutional policy/procedure, "Human Subject Protection Training." Training is accomplished through the Collaborative IRB Training Initiative (CITI). CITI was founded in 2000 as a not-for-profit collaboration between the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, a panel of national experts, and the University of Miami. CITI is web-based training on topics related to human research subjects and protection. Approximately 600 research organizations currently use the CITI program to meet their training requirements. Since 2000, over 300,000 individuals have completed CITI training.
