Statement
Elizabeth Buchanan, PhD, is both research scientist and Director of the Office of Research Support Services (ORSS) at the Marshfield Clinic Research Institute. She is a distinguished investigator in the fields of internet ethics, social media use, ethics in the Big Data era, human subjects protection, research ethics, and intellectual freedom. She is a five-time primary recipient of National Science Foundation funding, writer and co-author of numerous publications, and invited presenter at venues ranging from local public libraries to international conferences. She currently serves on the Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) board of directors as well as the Open Door Free Clinic in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.
