Statement

Dr. McLean is an epidemiologist with focus on infectious diseases and vaccine effectiveness, immunogenicity, safety, and policy. Much of her current research activities are focused on influenza, addressing issues relating to effect of prior vaccination history on vaccine effectiveness, both clinically and immunologically. She directs the MCRI Summer Research Internship Program, a program that provides mentored, hands-on research experiences for undergraduate and graduate students.
From 2008-2012, Dr. McLean worked in the Division of Viral Diseases at CDC. She was involved in multiple studies and outbreak investigations for vaccine preventable diseases, served as a WHO consultant on polio eradication in Kenya, and served as the CDC secretariat for the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) work group on measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine.
