The Cancer Care and Research Center was officially established in 2018.  However, formal Cancer Research at the Marshfield Clinic dates back the 1970's.  In 1983, the Marshfield Clinic was the recipient of a National Cancer Institute Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) grant.  This grant along with generous donations has provided continuous support for the Marshfield Clinic Cancer Care and Research Center.

Today the Cancer Care and Research Center provides Marshfield Clinic patients access to over 100 state of the art treatment, cancer control and precision oncology clinical trials at most Marshfield Medical Center Locations. 

The Cancer Care and Research Center is an active partner with leading national cancer research centers including:

 Cancer Care and Research Center physicians also participate in pharmaceutical sponsored studies and develop their own research studies within the Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Dr. Onitilo and Wisconsin NCORP (WiNCORP) team recognized for clinical trial accruals

September 21, 2018 -  Dr. Adedayo Onitilo, Marshfield Clinic Health System oncologist and researcher with Cancer Care and Research Center, and his research staff received recognition recently for being the highest accruing physician in the country for oncology clinical trials sponsored by the National Cancer Institute‚Äôs Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).

Cancer Care and Research Center receives $2.3 million to continue cancer research

Cancer Care and Research Center at Marshfield Clinic Research Institute was recently awarded $2.3 million by the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to continue to support the Wisconsin National Community Oncology Research Program (WiNCORP) through July 2019.

New MCRI center integrates research and cancer care

April 17, 2018 - Oncology research trials have always been a key aspect of cancer care at Marshfield Clinic Health System, which is now integrated with cancer care for cancer patients and survivors. The newly established Cancer Care and Research Center is making this integration possible.
