Jennifer Meece, Ph.D., has been named Marshfield Clinic Research Institute's Chief Research Officer and Executive Director after serving in the interim role for the past 14 months.

Dr. Susan Turney, M.D., Marshfield Clinic Health System CEO, made the announcement earlier this week in which she stated that Dr. Meece is the “perfect choice for the prestigious role."

“I am privileged to have built my scientific career at MCRI over the last twenty years and pleased to step into this role that will allow me to continue to advocate for the people who conduct the important work that MCRI is doing," said Meece. “We have amazing scientists and support teams who work tirelessly to advance medical research, help inform public health policy and improve the lives of the patients we serve.  I consider this position an honor."

Meece served as MCRI's Director of Integrated Research and Development (IRDL) for the past 15 years. In addition to her leadership, Meece is nationally known for her work on influenza, blastomycosis and COVID vaccine effectiveness. She has also played a leading role in the securing of millions of dollars in grants related to those focus areas.

“This is an exciting time for our Research Institute, and I look forward to seeing it continue to thrive under Dr. Meece's leadership," said Turney.
