Industry group to host Agricultural Safety Summit, March 28-30
‘A New Day for Safety’ announces speakers; early bird rates through Feb. 28
Registration is open for the North American Agricultural Safety Summit (March 28-30), an in-person, 1.5 day meeting where participants will learn from agricultural producers about proven safety strategies that result in cost savings and improved employee morale.
The summit will take place at Bally’s Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, hosted by the Agricultural Safety and Health Council of America (ASHCA). The summit is designed for risk managers, agricultural industry leaders, researchers, educators, government officials and others interested in improving worker safety in one of the nation’s most hazardous industries.
Earlybird registration is $395 for ASHCA members, $450 for non-members. Early bird rates end Feb. 28. Hotel rooms are just $49/night. Click for more information on attending, sponsoring or exhibiting at the summit.
Invited keynote speaker Carrie Castille, director, U.S. Department of Agriculture/National Institute of Food and Agriculture, heads a list of speakers that includes:
- Kristi Boswell, Alston & Bird, advises and advocates for agricultural and food clients on complex regulatory and legislative issues. Boswell is a former ASHCA Board member who previously served as a senior official at the USDA and the White House, and advocated for farmers in her role at American Farm Bureau Federation. Boswell will address, “Ag Labor Public Policy: Current Issues Affecting Worker Well-being.”
- Natalie Roy, executive director, AgriSafe Network, “Agricultural/Rural Public Health: preparing for the next pandemic.”
- Brad Guse, senior vice president, agribusiness banking, BMO Harris Bank N.A., “Ag Finances: impacts on health and safety.”
- Emily Buckman, director, Congressional relations, American Farm Bureau Federation, “Rural Mental Health: opportunities for helping.”

The summit will focus on strengthening relationships to identify, test and implement practical safety strategies that enhance the well-being of workers in agriculture, said ASHCA Board President Jess McCluer, vice president of safety and regulatory affairs, National Grain and Feed Association.
ASHCA follows state, local and venue COVID-19 requirements mandated for indoor events. Should registrants find they are unable to attend the Summit, they must notify ASHCA by March 20, 2022 to receive a 100% refund of the registration fee.
