Statement

I am a molecular microbiologist with a research focus on understanding genetic mechanisms of infectious and chronic diseases in which an infectious agent or microbiota may play a role. My research interests are mainly focused in two broad areas: i) how any perturbations in niche-specific microbiome could modulate human health and enhance risks for infectious disease and ii) understanding virulence mechanisms of Staphylococcus aureus pathogenesis.

Research Interests

Role of human microbiome in health and disease
Virulence mechanisms of Staphylococcus aureus and its interaction with host
Immune responses against Anaplasma phagocytophilum
