Statement

Dr. Glurich is a microbiologist with expertise and training in oral immunity, autoimmune diseases, microbial pathogenesis. Her research interests span relationships between oral and systemic health, advancement of integrated care delivery, promotion of oral precision medicine and definition of clinical practice guidelines for oral health management in patients with rare disease impacted by oral, craniofacial abnormalities. She works as a project scientist advancing research intiatives within the Center for Oral and Systemic Health and serves as the Core leader for the Oral Precision Research Core.

Research Interests

Dr. Glurich's areas of interest include: oral microbiology including the role of oral microbiome in oral and systemic health, microbial pathogenesis, host immune responses, role of inflammation in disease establishment/progression, potential of identifying biomarkers for monitoring of oral disease status to promote clinical precision medicine, and further delineation of mechanisms underlying connections between oral and systemic disease processes. She also is interested in advancing integrated medical-dental care delivery and advancing understanding of oral and craniofacial abnormalities arising in the context of rare diseases that impact on oral and systemic health and establishment of clinical practice guidelines to assist dental and medical providers in interventional planning and management of affected individuals.
