Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Population Health (CCEPH) researchers and staff were among the nearly 400 attendees at the 2018 Health Care Systems Research Network (HCSRN) annual conference held April 11-13, 2018 in Minneapolis, MN. This year's theme was "Improving Health and Well-Being: Connecting Research and Practice" and was hosted by the HCSRN and Health Partners Institute.

The objectives of the HCSRN conference are to showcase scientific findings from HCSRN research projects and to spur collaboration on research initiatives that improve health and healthcare for individuals and populations.

Robert Greenlee, PhD, MPH, Senior Research Scientist and HCSRN Governing Board member, participated as session chair for the Data Science and Networks Oral Abstract session.

Deb Multerer, Research Assistant Manager, coordinated the Virtual Data Warehouse Implementation group in-person meeting, the VDW Data Area Workgroup Lead meeting and the HCSRN/VDW Orientation session.

 


Two abstracts coauthored by CCEPH staff were presented at the Child, Maternal and Mental Health Oral Abstract session:

  • "Risk of Seizures Following the Measles Containing Vaccination in Children Born Preterm or Full-Term" by David McClure, PhD, Senior Epidemiologist (presenter) and Huong McLean, PhD, MPH, Research Scientist
  • "Evaluating the Risk of Spontaneous Abortion Following Inadvertent Human Papillomavirus Vaccination in Pregnancy" by James Donahue, DVM, PhD, MPH, Senior Epidemiologist

Ed Belongia, MD, CCEPH Director, and Jeffrey VanWormer, PhD, CCEPH Research Scientist also attended the conference.

Other Marshfield Clinic Research Institute (MCRI) staff attending this year's conference included Glen Buth, ORCA (Office of Research Computing and Analytics) Research Programmer/Anayst, Brian Hoch, ORCA Research Programmer/Analyst and VDW Site Data Manager and Neel Shimpi, BDS, MM, PhD, COSH (Center for Oral and Systemic Health) Associate Research Scientist.
